Is a Facebook page enough for a pest control business?

If you are wondering whether you need a website when you already have a Facebook page, the answer for pest control is yes. A Facebook page can turn up when someone searches your company name. It rarely turns up for “termite inspection” plus a town, and that is the search that brings a stranger to you. Keep the Facebook page. It just cannot do that one job.

What a Facebook page can and cannot rank for

Facebook works for people who already know you. Someone hears your name from a neighbor, searches it, and your page comes up. That is a real job and the page does it well.

The searches that bring new work are different. “Wasp nest removal near me” and “termite inspection” plus a city are answered by the map pack and by the results underneath it. A Facebook page competes for neither, because you cannot set a page title, headings, or service pages on it.

One thing worth being precise about: a Google Business Profile can rank in the map pack on its own, without a website attached. What the website adds is everything below that map — the organic results, where a homeowner comparing two companies actually reads.

The part of a Facebook page you do not control

The page sits at an address Meta owns, under rules Meta rewrites. Reach on a business page is a fraction of your followers unless you pay, and a post is out of the feed in a day or two.

The followers are not a list you can take with you. If the page gets restricted or locked, there is no URL you still own and no way to reach the people who were seeing your posts. That is a real risk to plan around, not a sales line.

What a pest control site does that a feed cannot

Pest control sells two different things. The 9 p.m. wasp nest is a phone call, and that visitor needs a number under their thumb and nothing else in the way. The quarterly plan is a comparison, and that homeowner wants to know which pests are covered, what happens if the ants come back between visits, and what it takes to cancel.

A feed cannot hold that second conversation. There is nowhere to put it and no way for someone to find it two weeks later when they are ready to decide.

You do not have to choose between them

Keep posting on Facebook. Point it at a site you own so the people it reaches land somewhere permanent. The two are not competing for the same job.

A one-page site starts at $499 and is usually live in 7 to 10 days, which is enough to cover what you treat, where you work, and how to reach you. Here is what we build for pest control companies if you want to see the shape of it first.

Start with a number, not a sales call

Send the towns you cover and the treatments you want more of. Back comes a fixed price and a launch date.
